Punjab Election: BSP Supremo Mayawati To Visit State On Feb 8

Punjab Election 2022: Ahead of the Punjab Assembly elections, BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party) supremo Mayawati is now set to visit the Punjab state on 8th February. According to the party, she will address a public meeting in Nawanshahr. BSP’s Punjab President Jasveer Garhi also backed the visit and said that the SAD (Shiromani Akali Dal) – BSP alliance will win a clear majority in the state by taking out Congress from all seats.

In a statement, Garhi said that Congress is in a worried state over the decision of BSP to field candidates on 20 assembly seats. He alleged that the Congress government has failed on all fronts and the people of Punjab are eagerly awaiting to end the misrule of Congress in the state. He also claimed that the welfare of the people has been neglected because of the discord between the Congress leaders.

Punjab Assembly Elections 2022

In the Punjab Assembly elections 2017, Congress won 77 seats in the 117-member house, whereas SAD won only 18 seats and AAP emerged as the second-largest party with 20 seats.

This year, some polls have predicted a tough fight between AAP and Congress. Punjab elections 2022 will be held on 20th February and counting of votes shall take place on 10th March.
