Harbhajan Singh To Be AAP’s Punjab Candidate For Rajya Sabha Polls This Year

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh will be the AAP’s (Aam Aadmi Party) Punjab candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections this year, the party has announced. The AAP will get five seats in the Rajya Sabha, by the end of this month.

According to the sources, the newly-formed state government of Punjab led by CM Bhagwant Mann may also give command of the sports university to Harbhajan Singh.

Right before the Punjab elections conducted in February, speculations of Harbhajan Singh joining the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) were rife. Many media outlets reported on the possibility and claimed that a senior BJP leader had said, “We have them (Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh) on the radar. Let’s see”. Later Bhajji dismissed these rumours.

However, the rumours did not stop there as only days later, the veteran cricketer was seen posing with the then Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, who posted the picture on his Twitter handle and mentioned the caption as “Picture loaded with possibilities. With Bajji the shining star”.

With the recent announcement by AAP, all rumours seem to have been put to rest.
