At least 17 of the 25 ministers in AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s new cabinet will be from the OBC, SC, ST, and minority communities, as per the sources. The earlier cabinet had 14 ministers from these communities.
In the previous cabinet, there were 7 OBCs, 5 SCs, 1 ST, 1 minority, and 11 MLAs from other communities. This time, the representation has been increased by 68% – 8 OCs, 11 OBCs, 5 SCs, and 1 ST.
According to the sources, the cabinet will also have 11 senior ministers from the previous cabinet. The swearing-in ceremony will be conducted on Monday (11th April).
The new cabinet ministers list has been handed over to the state Governor Biswa Bhushan Hari Chandan. Earlier, the governor accepted the resignations of all 24 ministers of the previous cabinet.
According to the sources, the new cabinet includes Botsa Satyanarayana, P. Rajanna Dora, Gudivada Amarnath, Buddi Muthyala Naidu, Dharmana Prasada Rao, Sidiri Appalaraju, Pinipe Vishwaroopam, Dadishetti Raja, and Cheluboina Venugopalakrishna, Kakani Govardhan reddy, Amjad Basha, Buggana Rajendranath, Taneti Vanitha, Karumuri Nageswararao, Kittu Satyanarayana, Meraga Nagarjuna, Vidadala Rajini, Gummanooru Jayaram, Jogi Ramesh, Ambati Rambabu, Narayanaswamy, Roja K. Selvamani, Peddireddy Ramachandrareddy, and A Suresh.
When Jagan took over as the CM on 30th May 2019, he announced that he would undertake a complete revamp of his cabinet after 2 and a half years and get a new cabinet.
A leader of YSRCP (YSR Congress Party) stated that the Chief Minister found better alternatives to fight the TDP (Telugu Desam Party), Janasena, and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party).
