The BJP has appointed three observers for the by-elections to four assembly constituencies in Tripura state, a senior party leader said on Wednesday.
The by-elections to four assembly constituencies – Agartala, Surma, Town Bardoali, and Jubarajnagar – will be conducted on June 23 and counting will take place on June 26.
BJP national president JP Nadda has appointed three persons as observers for the Tripura by-elections.
The three observers include the cabinet minister of Assam Ashok Singhal, party general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, and the political secretary to the chief minister of Assam Jayanta Mulla Baruah, said a senior party leader.
The last date to file the nomination will expire on June 8.
Ashok Singhal has met Union Minister from the state, Pratima Bhoumik, in her residence, he said. State party president and Chief Minister Manik Saha held an organizational meeting for the by-elections on Wednesday and prepared a strategy for it.
