Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that BJP has started the preparation for State polls next year. MLAs and ministers asked to strengthen the party.
BJP national general secretary B L Santhosh and BJ Goa desk in-charge C T Ravi asked its MLAs and Ministers to start preparation for strengthening the party in their respective constituencies to enable the party to win in the 2022 assembly election.
More than 2800 people lost their lives because of COVID. Both the central leaders asked the MLAs to win the confidence of people by helping them. BJP leaders asked to have a look to resolve the grievances of people. Santhosh and Ravi held meeting with ministers, committee members about various issues, including Covid management, constituency work along election preparation. Both are trying to find out who has worked for the public during Covid and cyclone Tauktae struck. MLAs were asked to strengthen the organization as the assembly election approaching fast.
CM Sawant said that they asked ministers to take steps to reach out to the people and the party will fight the next assembly election under his leadership and also added that the visit is not connected to evaluate the performance of the government.
Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant said that they were asked about the ongoing work in their constituencies.
Science and technology minister Michael Lobo urged central leaders to consider winnability as a factor to select candidates for polls otherwise it will be like the 2017 election and said that the exercise is conducted to prepare for the next assembly election in 2022.
