Congress Will Fight Solo In 2023 Telangana Assembly Elections: Revanth Reddy

Telangana Assembly Elections 2023: In a key development, Telangana Congress President Revanth Reddy on Monday announced that the party will contest solo against TRS (Telangana Rashtriya Samiti) and the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) in the state assembly elections 2023. Revanth’s remarks came after his meeting with Rahul Gandhi. Speaking on the meeting, Revanth Reddy said, “We held a discussion with Rahul Gandhi Ji over several issues including inflation, farmers, fuel price, and paddy procurement, etc. Rahul Ji will visit Telangana in this month. No alliance, Congress is going to fight against TRS and BJP in Telangana”.

On Monday, Gandhi met senior Congress leaders from Telangana state to brainstorm strategies for the upcoming elections and also to discuss the political situation in the state. The meeting took place in the residence of Rahul Gandhi and this is his second time meeting with the party’s state leaders in the span of a week.

Congress is the second biggest party in the state with 19 seats, followed by Owaisi-led AIMIM with 7 seats. BJP, which fought for the 118 seats in the previous elections won just a single seat.
