Akhilesh Yadav Sacks Members For Opposing Party In State Council Election

Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav expelled party members including former District Panchayat President of Ghazipur Vijay Yadav, former MLC Kailash Singh, and others for opposing the party during the MLC election in Ghazipur.

On Tuesday, Mr. Yadav held a meeting with leaders of party allies Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD), Apna Dal (K), and Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP).

However, Akhilesh Yadav’s uncle, UP MLA, and PSP (Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party) leader Shivpal Yadav, who contested on the SP ticket, was not present at the meeting. Apna Dal (K) leader Pallavi Patel also didn’t attend the meeting.

RLD legislative party leader Rajpal Baliyan and SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar attended the meeting with Akhilesh.

“In the meeting, we have reviewed the defeat, how to raise the voice of common people in the house? The poor laborers will fight the battle of unemployment,” Mr. Balidan told ANI.

The BJP (Bharatiya Janta Party) had retained power for a second consecutive term in the state by winning 255 seats in the 403-seat assembly. While Samajwadi Party emerged as a strong opposition with 111  seats.
