Rahul Gandhi May Announce Punjab CM Candidate on February 6

Punjab Elections 2022: The Congress is likely to declare its CM face for Punjab elections on 6th February, the day when Rahul Gandhi will visit the poll-bound state, party sources said. Rahul Gandhi during his last visit to Punjab state announced that the decision on CM candidate will be taken soon after consulting party workers.

Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi has already started consulting with the party leaders and workers regarding the Chief Ministerial face.

Congress has also sought the opinion of common people on the issue and the process has begun in the last two days. As per the sources Rahul Gandhi is likely to visit Punjab on 6th February (Sunday) and may make an important announcement.

Last week, while addressing a rally in Jalandhar Rahul Gandhi had said that Channi and Siddu has assured him that whoever is chosen as the Chief Ministerial candidate, the other will support him.

Congress is seeking to retain power in Punjab and is likely to announce Charanjit Singh Channi as CM face.

Punjab’s upcoming elections will see a fight between AAP, the SAD-BSP, Congress, BJP-PLA, and Shiromani Akali Dal (Sanyukt).
