Elections in 2022 will include election to the office of the President of India, Vice President of India, by-elections to the Lok Sabha along with this, State Legislative Assembly Elections will be held for 5 states in 2022.
The State Legislative Assembly Elections in India will be held every 5 years. In 2022 five states will have assembly elections that include Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
According to Sec 15 representation of people act 1951, “A general election shall be held for the purpose of constituting a new Legislative Assembly on the expiration of the duration of the existing Assembly or on its dissolution.”

The Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly to elect 403 members, the current assembly will expire on 14 March 2022.
The Punjab Legislative Assembly to elect 117 members, the current assembly will expire on 27 March 2022.
The Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly to elect 70 members, the current assembly will expire on 23 March 2022.
The Goa Legislative Assembly to elect 40 members, the current assembly will expire on 15 March 2022.
The Manipur Legislative Assembly to elect 60 members, the current assembly will expire on 19 March 2022.
In the Election Symbols (Reservations and Allotment) Order, 1968, for the existing paragraph 10 B, The following paragraph shall be substituted, namely:
“10 B – Concession to candidates set up by registered parties and to unrecognized parties which were earlier recognized parties more than 6 years back.”
