Assembly Elections 2022: Out of the four states that the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) won in the recent assembly elections, the party is said to have decided to retain the incumbent chief ministers in Goa, Uttar Pradesh, and Manipur, while Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami’s fate hangs in the balance.
While there was no doubt about the continuation of Yogi as the CM of Uttar Pradesh, Party sources said top officials have decided to continue with Pramod Sawant for Goa and N Biren Singh for Manipur.
On Wednesday, Sawant and Singh met top party officials including PM Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, party president JP Nadda and some other leaders. On Tuesday, Dhami also met some party leaders including Amit Shah and JP Nadda.
The BJP has appointed observers for four states, with Home Minister Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh being given the responsibility of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand respectively. As per the party sources, the government formation in the states would be done after the Holi festival around 20th March.
The BJP MPs from Uttarakhand also met Amit Shah on Wednesday and discussed the current situations in the state.
