Kalyan made it clear that his focus is not on securing the Chief Minister’s post, but rather on determining it after the election results based on the deserving candidate. He emphasized the genuine desire of the people to have political parties that genuinely support and stand by them.
Kalyan’s mission appears to revolve around advocating for the inclusion of the TDP in an alliance with the BJP. He considers the TDP to be the primary opposition party and believes that a JSP-BJP-TDP alliance would greatly benefit from this collaboration. On the other hand, N. Chandrababu Naidu, the national president of the TDP, has also expressed interest in joining the NDA and has been making overtures to the BJP. However, Naidu’s absence from the NDA meeting suggests a strained relationship, possibly stemming from the TDP’s criticism of Amit Shah and protests against Narendra Modi’s campaign in Andhra Pradesh during the 2019 elections.
Naidu has attempted to establish rapport with the BJP by successfully facilitating the entry of four of his Rajya Sabha members into the party. Observers speculate that Naidu’s recent move to involve Pawan Kalyan in a mission indicates a last-ditch effort to soften the BJP’s stance towards the TDP.
